I like the book that you had to show as an example especially since it wasn't perfect. I think that takes a lot of pressure off of the students to have to make it perfect. I loved your activity and how you found a way to include the students who could not jump rope. That was great! You were really well prepared and it showed. You did a great job!
Angie- Preparation-I believe the teacher was really prepared and engaged the students by a storybook first then an activity. The jumproap activity was wonderful for the students to enjoy themselves and create some examples for their book. Content- My teacher brought to my attention the importance of group work. I feel excited that we are going to present our book to the nextdoor class, when we finish it. The classroom was really enjoyable today. Individualized Needs- Well as a viewer I would say the whole lesson was addressed for students with needs. It was detailed and entertaining. I believe the jumproap activity may be a little advanced for the students to actually complete but its a great concept to incoporate a physical activity. Assesment- Today my teacher told me if i wrote my sentences properly with correct punction and capitalization then I would get a good grade. I have to finish two letters of the alphabet with a picture and a written sentence under it.
1. Assessment- I think the assessment for this lesson was very appropriate. You gave us, the students, the chance to find our own letters, make our own sentences, and color them in our own way, which I believe is so important, especially with students having special needs.
2. Individualized needs- This portion of the lesson is difficult to reflect on, because we, essentially, are all adults and do not have any needs to accomodate for; however, I like how you provided us with an example from your "past" students work, showing us that it is ok to be ourselves and make mistakes, while encouraging us to do our best and challenge ourselves.
3. Content- I thought that the content of your lesson was very well centered around your goals & objectives. I understood throughout the entirety of the lesson, what we were doing and what was expected of as a student, which is so important.
4. Preparation- You were so well prepared for this lesson and it showed! From the materials you used to the content being taught, I could tell you knew exactly what you wanted the students to understand, while having fun doing it. Overall, I loved this lesson! Awesome job!
1. I believe that the assessment for this lesson was appropriate for all students in general, including those that are intellectual challenge. The story reading was a good anticipatory set that engaged all students into the lesson. 2. The individual needs during this lesson were reached. The story reading was effective, and it helped students in general. Therefore, the student needs were effectively reached and most importantly,it provided different types of learning. 3. The content of the lesson was definitely age appropriate and it was very helpful in the way that all students were able to comprehend the lesson effectively. 4. you seemed to be very well prepared for this lesson, and you knew exactly what the objective was when teaching this lesson.
You did an awesome job presenting the lesson. Your assessment for the students was effective and allowed you to assess what the students knew. I think you met every individualized need of the students. I really enjoyed the circle time of reading the book as a class. As far as being prepared, I think you were very well prepared and knowledgeable of the concept of the lesson. You made what could have been a very simple lesson into something very creative and entertaining! Over all awesome job! :)
I think that your lesson was very original ;) It was fun acting like students with different kind of needs but overall I think for a special needs classroom that your lesson was very appropriate. Your collection of the colored papers was a great way of assessing your students, and you also mentioned that you would have students sit and color more if they get done fast. I think you were very well prepared because you had all of your materials and your example of what you wanted from us. I also really liked your anticipatory set where you had some students read a the story together.Overall a wonderful job!
your lesson was very different in a great way. I love the idea of making an alphabet book. The jump rope word association was a lot of fun.The only thing I have as a suggestion is to make sure the book is put in order. But overall great lesson it was a lot of fun and I'm sure students would enjoy doing it as well.
